Green Acres I (2052 W. Main St., 480/964-5058, $20-24 RV w/hookups) is an adult park four miles west of downtown Mesa. Goodlife RV Resort (3403 E. Main St., 480/832-4990 or 800/999/4990, $32 RV w/hookups) has more than 1,100 spaces designed for people 55 and over; guests have a pool, hot tubs, and many seasonal activities. Farther out, Mesa Regal RV Resort (4700 E. Main St., 480/830-2821 or 800/845-4752, $30 RV w/hookups) also provides a pool, hot tub, exercise room, and wintertime programs for guests 55 and over. Usery Mountain Regional Park, 12 miles northeast of downtown Mesa, has a campground with hookups and showers in a very scenic setting; see "Valley of the Sun Recreation" for details and directions.
Lost Dutchman State Park (six miles northeast from US 60/89 on AZ 88, 480/982-4485, $12 tent or RV, $20 w/electric) has a spectacular setting in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains with hiking trails, interpretive programs, and showers; see "Apache Trail" for details. Both tents and RVs are also welcome at Mesa-Apache Jct. KOA (1540 S. Tomahawk Rd., one mile north from Superstition Fwy. Exit 197, 480/982-4015 or 800/562-3404, $20 tent, $25-27 RV w/hookups) with store, pool, hot tub, and showers. Rock Shadows RV Resort (600 S. Idaho Rd., 480/982-0450 or 800/521-7096, www.rockshadows.com, $26 RV w/hookups) provides a pool, hot tubs, and seasonal programs for seniors 55 and over.
