SEDONA RECREATION

In town, you'll find picnic tables, a playground, ball fields, and outdoor pool at Sedona Community Park (525 Posse Ground Road, 0.3 mile north of Hwy. 89A, 928/282-0112 or 282-7098).
    Radisson Poco Diablo Resort (two miles south of the Y on Hwy. 179, 928/282-7333) features tennis courts (call and ask for the tennis shop to make reservations) and a nine-hole golf course. Oak Creek Country Club (690 Bell Rock Blvd., 928/284-1660) offers an 18-hole golf course in the Village of Oak Creek; from the Y, head south 6.5 miles on Hwy. 179, turn right on Bell Rock Road, then it's half a mile on the right. Sedona Golf Resort (35 Ridge Trail Dr., 928/284-9355) also has an 18-hole course open to the public on the south side of the Village of Oak Creek; head about 7 miles south on Hwy. 179, then turn right on Ridge Trail Drive. Canyon Mesa Country Club (500 Jacks Canyon Rd., 928/284-0036) offers a nine-hole course in the Village of Oak Creek; take Hwy. 179 south 6.8 miles from the Y, then turn left about half a mile on Jacks Canyon Road. Verde Santa Fe Golf Course (928/634-5454) is an 18-hole course in Cornville, 15 miles west of town off Hwy. 89A.
    Anglers can pull rainbow trout from Oak Creek. Rainbow Trout Farm (3 miles north of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon, 928/282-5799, open daily) offers easier fishing for a fee, though you must pay for what you catch. Equipment is available and no license is needed.
